The Sri Lanka ETA application portal offers 3 processing options: Standard Processing, Rush Processing, and Super-Rush Processing. Applicants select their preferred option when submitting the application.

Urgent/Rush Processing

The application is processed faster than Standard Processing, taking 2 - 4 Working Days

What Is a Sri Lanka Urgent ETA?

A Sri Lanka Urgent ETA is an ETA application submitted using the Rush Processing option.

Rush Processing prioritises the application for faster review compared to Standard Processing.

What Is a Sri Lanka Super-Urgent ETA?

A Sri Lanka Super-Urgent ETA is an ETA application submitted using the Super-Rush Processing option.

Super-Rush Processing provides the highest level of priority and is processed faster than both Standard and Rush Processing.

Sri Lanka ETA Types Available with Urgent and Super-Urgent Processing 

The following ETA types can be submitted using standard, rush, or super-rush processing:

  • Sri Lanka Tourist ETA: For tourism, sightseeing, visiting friends or relatives, and short recreational visits to Sri Lanka.
  • Sri Lanka Business ETA: For attending business meetings, conferences, seminars, training programmes, and other approved business-related activities. 
  • Sri Lanka Transit ETA: For travellers transiting through Sri Lanka on their way to another destination. 
  • Sri Lanka ETA for Minors (Under 12): For eligible children under 12 travelling to Sri Lanka for tourism, family visits, and other approved cultural or sporting activities.

Does Urgent or Super-Urgent Processing Change ETA Validity?

No. The ETA validity period, stay duration, and number of permitted entries remain the same. 

Tourist ETA

Validity: 180 days 

Max Stay: 30 days 

Number of Allowed Entries: Double

Business ETA

Validity: 180 days 

Max Stay: 30 days 

Number of Allowed Entries: Multiple 

Transit ETA

Validity: 2 days 

Max Stay: 2 days 

Number of Allowed Entries: Single 

ETA for Minor

Validity: 180 days 

Max Stay: 30 days 

Number of Allowed Entries: Double

Steps to Choose Urgent or Super-Urgent Processing

Step 1: Complete the Sri Lanka ETA application form and provide the required information.

Step 2: Select either rush processing or super-rush processing from the available processing options.

Step 3: Upload the required documents and pay the applicable fee. 

Step 4: Submit the application and wait for the ETA decision by email.

Sri Lanka ETA Documents Required for Urgent and Super-Urgent Processing 

  • The required documents remain the same regardless of the processing option selected.
  • The document required is a scanned copy of the applicant's passport bio page. 

Does Urgent or Super-Urgent Processing Increase Approval Chances?

Selecting Rush or Super-Rush Processing does not increase the likelihood of approval. It only prioritises the application for processing. 

All applications are assessed according to the same eligibility requirements.
