Day 1: Arrival and Travel to Sigiriya
After arriving in Sri Lanka, travel towards Sigiriya. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to spend a short period in Colombo or continue directly to the Cultural Triangle. Although the journey takes several hours, it places you closer to some of the country’s most important historical attractions and allows you to make the most of your limited time.
Spend the remainder of the day relaxing or exploring the surrounding countryside. The area is known for its rural landscapes, reservoirs, and views of Sigiriya Rock rising above the plains.

Day 2: Sigiriya and Dambulla
Start early with a visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka's most iconic landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The climb to the summit passes ancient frescoes, landscaped gardens, and the remains of a royal palace built atop the rock.
Later, visit the nearby Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO-listed attraction. The cave complex contains impressive Buddhist murals and statues and remains one of the country's most important religious sites.

Day 3: Sigiriya to Kandy
Travel south to Kandy, Sri Lanka's cultural capital. The route passes through central Sri Lanka and offers opportunities to experience local towns and scenery along the way.
Upon arrival, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most significant Buddhist sites in the country. The temple houses a sacred relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha and continues to attract pilgrims from around the world. In the evening, enjoy a walk around the picturesque Kandy Lake.

Day 4: Kandy to Ella
Leave Kandy and travel into Sri Lanka's hill country. Many visitors choose the train journey from Kandy to Ella, which is widely regarded as one of the most scenic rail journeys in Asia and an attraction in its own right.
The route passes tea plantations, forests, valleys, and mountain villages before arriving in Ella. After checking in, spend the evening exploring the town's cafés, viewpoints, and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 5: Ella and Yala National Park
Begin the day by exploring some of Ella's most popular attractions. The Nine Arches Bridge is one of the country's most photographed landmarks, while Little Adam's Peak offers rewarding views of the surrounding highlands.
Later, continue to Yala National Park. An afternoon or evening safari provides the opportunity to observe Sri Lanka's wildlife in its natural habitat. The park is particularly known for its leopard population, although elephants, crocodiles, deer, and numerous bird species can also be spotted.

Day 6: Yala to Mirissa
Travel towards Sri Lanka's southern coastline and arrive in Mirissa, one of the country's most popular beach destinations.
Mirissa offers a relaxed atmosphere, golden beaches, and excellent opportunities to unwind after several days of sightseeing. Depending on the season, visitors may also join whale-watching excursions in search of blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins.
Spend the rest of the day enjoying the beach, exploring the coastline, or simply relaxing by the ocean.

Day 7: Galle and Departure
Before returning to Colombo or Bandaranaike International Airport, make a stop at Galle Fort. Built by the Portuguese and later expanded by the Dutch, the fort remains one of the best-preserved colonial landmarks in Asia.
Walk through its historic streets, admire the architecture, and enjoy views of the Indian Ocean from the fort walls. After exploring Galle, continue your journey to the airport for departure.
